Penicuik and District u3a
Live life to the full - that’s what the u3a is about, and the Penicuik and District u3a is the only one in Midlothian.
If you’re no longer in full-time employment, want to get out more, make new friends and maybe learn a new skill, then this could be for you.
They host a monthly guest speaker in Penicuik Town Hall and the topics are very varied. They have over 30 interest groups involving academic, leisure, craft, language, sport and social activities (complete list below).

Academic - French conversation, Spanish, Science and History.
Leisure - Art appreciation, two book review groups, Creative Writing and Family History.
Craft - Needlecraft
Sport / Exercise - exercise for fun, rambling, hill walkers, tennis, table tennis, fun and games, nature appreciation and Petanque.
Social activities - two lunch clubs, ‘Natter and Noggin’, Theatre and Cinema visits, Smartphone Surfers, Whisky tasting and current affairs (discussion).
