About the Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan
Community Justice is a way to prevent and reduce crime, helping us to feel safer in our communities and enabling us to lead positive lives.
The Community Justice (Scotland) Act 2016 comes into effect on 1 April 2017. Crucially, it is about reducing offending and re-offending and improving local planning so that the people who know the area best are empowered to make the decisions.
The Act requires us to develop a Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan. This is developed using guidance from the Scottish Government, responses to a public questionnaire in September 2016 and feedback on the draft plan.
