Midlothian Council is updating the regeneration masterplan for Dalkeith. This will be informed by a new vision for the town centre.

Summary

Over May, June and July 2022 Midlothian Council and People Powered Results at Nesta heard from a total of 315 people - including residents, young people, businesses and people who support Midlothian communities - about their vision for the future of Dalkeith town centre. We have used what we heard from you to draft initial ideas and proposals for the town centre regeneration and want to hear your views.
You told us that you want to see
- A pedestrianised central square as a focal point for cultural events, markets and socialising
- More diversity in the facilities and businesses located and operating in the town centre
- Improved connections between green spaces, key transport links and the town centre
- A refreshed and brightened up town centre
