Licence and permit applications - Animal home boarding licence

Anyone who operates a kennel or cattery business from a domestic premises.

Where overnight boarding of animals occurs in domestic premises, the establishment must be licensed in terms of The Animal Boarding Establishment Act 1963.

Your premises will be inspected by an Environmental Health Officer who may be accompanied by our Veterinary Officer prior to issuing your licence. They will check that the premises and your animal welfare arrangements are suitable. Licences are only granted in respect of persons operating premises which meet the appropriate standards.
