Food business legislation
Allergies: food labelling
The law about which foods must be labelled has changed.
‘Food allergies can be life-threatening’
Any food which you package on your premises (pre-pack for direct sale) and sell to a customer from your business must be labelled with:
- The name of the food
- A full ingredient list, and
- Any of the 14 allergens, required to be declared by law, emphasised within the ingredients list.
