Support for adults with learning disabilities

Shared Lives Midlothian

Shared Lives Midlothian provides care and support for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

We match people with similar interests who share their lives, community, networks, family and home.

Every day is different and every person is different. Some people like to catch up for a cuppa, some like to go shopping, bike rides, a game of snooker, a swim or even a holiday abroad.

Kevin who is supported by Shared Lives enjoys his time with us as he says "we go wherever we want! We have a laugh!".

Day support, short breaks and long term care

We provide 3 types of support. Each one is regulated by the Care Inspectorate.

  • Day support - a few hours once or twice a week
  • Short breaks - a bit like respite
  • Long term care - a bit like fostering for adults
