Bus pass
Replacement or renewal
Apply to:
- update the photograph on your card
- request a renewal
- replace your card if it is lost, stolen or damaged.
The online process will be much quicker if you have your existing card, as you will be asked for the card number.
Apply to replace or renew a card
11 and 12 year olds
If your child is turning 12 and their current NEC card has expired, or to replace a lost or stolen card for a child aged 11, apply for a Young Scot card.
A photograph and passport is required or, if they do not have a passport, Midlothian pupils can be verified if you tell us the school they attend.
Otherwise you must complete a paper application with a photo signed by a suitable referee. Libraries can assist with this.
During summer
During the summer months (1 June to 31 August), the fastest way to get a replacement that does not require any changes is to email your full name, address, and date of birth to your local library or you can visit in person.
Between September and May, and for enquiries related to address and photo updates, please email ptu@midlothian.gov.uk.
We will tell you if we need more information and when the new card will be issued.
PIP to ADP transfer delays
Please reapply as normal if you are waiting on a decision letter about your Personal Independence Payment transferring to Adult Disablilty Payment.
If possible please include your Social Security welcome letter or most recent correspondence, and most recent PIP letter. This will help to speed up the process but but please still reapply if you don't have these letters.
You do not need to contact Social Security Scotland unless advised by us.
