Parking restrictions
Midlothian offers a range of parking facilities to accommodate the needs of residents, businesses and visitors. Most streets have unrestricted parking, generally in residential or rural areas.
In busier town centres and where road safety is a concern (e.g. at junctions or schools) there are restrictions to manage parking, loading and unloading. These may include:
- Yellow Lines
- Time-limited parking bays
- Loading bays
- Disabled bays
- Parking near schools
Map of Midlothian parking restrictions
From 1 April 2024, we are enforcing a ban on pavement/kerbside parking and double parking.
To avoid a £100 penalty for parking offences, you should comply with the restrictions indicated by the signs and lines on the street.
