Young Ambassadors – in partnership with sportscotland
- The Young Ambassadors programme is funded by the National Lottery and is a key element of sportscotland’s contribution to developing young people as leaders in sport.
- High school senior pupils are selected in every secondary school in Scotland.
- The Young Ambassadors’ role is to promote sport, be a role model in advocating PE and school sport, and motivate and inspire other young people to get involved in sport in their schools, clubs, and local communities.
School Sport Awards
- Funded by the National Lottery, the sportscotland School Sport Award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision-making, planning, and implementation of extra-curricular school sport.
- It encourages schools to self-reflect, continuously improve, as well as recognise and celebrate success in school sport.
- The award also encourages sporting links between schools and the communities around them, providing pathways for young people to progress in sport.
- In Midlothian, we strive to get our primary and secondary schools involved in the School Sport Awards.
Kit For All
- Kit for All is about recycling pre-loved sports kit! The goal is to make sport and physical activity more environmentally friendly by getting further use out of pre-loved sports kit, and ensuring it is accessible to everyone by being free.
- Anyone can set up a Kit for All project, even on a small scale like encouraging kit drives within clubs or schools.
- sportscotland is keen to support, facilitate, and equip partners to set up their own Kit for All initiatives locally.
