Building closures and service disruptions
The Met Office has issued weather warnings for Saturday and Sunday.
The council is working towards returning to normal service delivery as the clear up from Storm Eowyn continues. Please check this page for updates along with Facebook and Twitter.
From Sunday 26 January:
Council buildings open but Penicuik Centre only accepting cash
Libraries, leisure centres and Midlothian Snowsports Centre open with the remainder of public council buildings resuming normal working hours from Monday 27 January.
However, the Penicuik Centre is only able to take cash currently as its phones, internet and tills are offline:

Please note Midlothian Snowsports Centre was having the same issue but it has been resolved.
Schools
Our schools and nurseries will open as normal on Monday 27 January.
Waste services
Stobhill and Penicuik Recycling Centres are open.
All waste collections were cancelled on Friday.
- For glass recycling and food waste originally due on Friday 24 January, please put your bins out at your next scheduled collection date.
- For blue bins and grey bins originally due on Friday 24 January, please put your bins out on Saturday 1 February for your rescheduled collection.
- For trade waste customers originally due on Friday 24 January, your bins will be collected at your next scheduled collection date.
- Bulky uplifts scheduled to take place on Friday 24 January should be put out on Saturday 25 or Monday 27 for collection, depending on the weather.
Parks
Council parks are open, with the exception of Vogrie Country Park, which will remain closed until Monday as teams clean up the debris from Storm Eowyn.
Warm and well hubs
Warm and well hubs in libraries are open.
Council house repairs
All cancelled repairs appointments will be rescheduled. Any immediate risk to the health, safety or security of you or others, or to the structure of the building:
