Free school meals and clothing grants
Help with school meals during holidays and strike action
Where a pupil is eligible for free school meals because of low income, they may get extra help during school holidays and in the event of strike action.

If your child is not getting Free School Meals and you think they may be eligible, you must apply. (You apply for a Clothing Grant with the same form as for Free School Meals.)
We will update the table below throughout the year to confirm when any additional payments will be made.

Since November 2022, the Scottish Child Payment is available for eligible children under the age of 16. It is now £25 a week for each child.
If you are eligible, and have responsibility for one or more children aged 6 to15, you must take action to ensure you get the support you're entitled to.

If you are in extreme financial hardship you may want to apply to the Scottish Welfare Fund.
