Mid Market Rent (MMR) is a type of affordable housing, where rents are lower than in the private market, but higher than council or housing association rent.

MMR aims to help households on modest incomes, that have difficulty accessing social rented housing, buy their own home, or rent privately.

The criteria for accessing MMR varies between providers but usually prospective tenants must be employed (or have a job offer) and their gross yearly household income must be between £20,000 and £40,000.
