  We are aware of at least one elderly resident who was asked to give her payment details over the phone before a Midlothian Council alarm could be fitted in her home. This is a scam.

• Cousland Village Park all set for spring thanks to partnership working

  Local volunteers in Cousland have planted more than 300 hedge saplings and 400 bulbs in the village park as part of a joint initiative between the community and Midlothian Council.
