Closure of leisure centre spas

As a result of the current international situation, we are currently experiencing supply chain and distribution issues for chlorine. This is having a major impact on the leisure industry across the UK and abroad. 

Impact on pools and spas

These issues are now impacting our swimming pools and spas at Newbattle Campus, the Lasswade Centre, Loanhead Leisure Centre and the Penicuik Centre.

New procedures

We have been finding it extremely difficult to source chlorine for several months, with Sport and Leisure now having to implement new procedures to try and keep our swimming pools open. 

Closure of spas

Regrettably, we have had to take the decision to close our spas from Saturday 18 June until further notice. 

New measures

New measures have been implemented across all our sites to ensure we can minimise the usage of chlorine while still providing a safe and comfortable experience for all our users.

Upgraded memberships

We recognise the impact this will have on our members so all memberships will be upgraded to Platinum memberships free of charge from Saturday 18 June until we are able to offer our full service again. 

Discounts

Discounts will also be made available for pay as you go customers who wish to use our steam rooms and saunas.
