Funding approved for community councillors

Councillors have approved more than £6,000 of funding to support community councils.

For running costs

Thirteen community councils successfully applied for annual grant funding of up to £300 a year for administration and running costs.

Projects for communities

Community councils could also apply for extra money to help deliver new projects to benefit local communities.

Supporting local people

At the full Council on Tuesday, councillor approved grants for 2023/24 totalling £6,610.

£30,000 of grants

In June 2021, the full Council approved grant funding of £30,000 (£10,000 annually) for community councils covering 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2025.

All 15 community councils and the Federation of Community Councils are eligible to apply.  The council has thanks the community councils and the federation for their hard work and support.
