Consultation about closing Lasswade High School Childcare Service
Local people are to be consulted on plans to close Lasswade High School Childcare Service.
15 children attend
At the full Council meeting on Tuesday, councillors heard 15 children currently attend the nursery, which offers full-time funded places based in the Lasswade Centre.
Work with families
The council will work with families to find the children places at other childcare settings locally.
Three staff members
The Lasswade service has a staff of three people, two of whom are permanent and full-time, and the other staff member is full-time and on a temporary contract.
People Policies
Redeploying them would be managed in line with the council’s People Policies.
Consultation around August
Councillors approved moving ahead with the statutory consultation, which is due to start in August 2024.
Other providers
Although the council is proposing to close the service, other childcare providers could take on the facilities.
