Christina Rennex (nee Forrest) worked in the general post office until she married Arthur Rennex in 1946 and together they bought their home in Bonnyrigg in 1950. They went on to raise a daughter and a son. The family has since expanded to include 4 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and also great-great grandchildren.
Christina then worked as a cashier in a furniture shop in the meadows for 14 years and would then go on work at Midlothian Council for 19 years until her retirement.
In 1970, Christina was widowed but continued to live at her Bonnyrigg home until 2021, after which she moved to Archview Lodge Care Home in Dalkeith following a stay in hospital.
At 100 years old, Christina continues to love gardening, music from the 1960s and spending time with her family.
