Midlothian schools welcome VIP education delegates
We are honoured to welcome VIP guests to some of our schools today (Friday), starting at Burnbrae Primary, pictured.
Cabinet Secretary
Jenny Gilruth, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills and the Chief Executive of Education Scotland, Gillian Hamilton, joined international delegates from the Atlantic Rim Collaboratory (ARC) on a tour of the Bonnyrigg primary.

ARC is a global educational movement promoting improvement, innovation and inclusion in schools and larger societies.
Our best practice
Delegates were invited to hear more about best practice in our schools regarding this year’s ARC summit themes of attendance, belonging and excellence in teaching.
Warm welcome
Council Leader Councillor Kelly Parry and Midlothian Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Councillor Ellen Parry were among the welcoming party along with Burnbrae Head Teacher Linda Clarkson, pupils and Fiona Robertson Executive Director Children, Young People and Partnerships.

Delegates are also visiting Lasswade Primary, Lasswade High School and Rosewell Primary.
