Changes to Rosewell bus service welcomed
Midlothian Council’s Cabinet Member for transport, Councillor Colin Cassidy said he was delighted Lothian Buses has paid heed to his calls to improve evening buses serving Rosewell.
Creating more direct links
From Sunday 6 April, after 9pm service 46 will operate a normal daytime route between Rosewell and Musselburgh, creating more direct links. Currently in the late evenings after 9pm, Service 46 offers a ‘shuttle’ service only between Rosewell, Bonnyrigg and Dalkeith.
Welcome news
Cllr Cassidy said: “Myself and Council Leader Councillor Parry have been lobbying for an improved service to Rosewell for a while now.
Improving connectivity
“The changes will improve connectivity making it easier for people to socialise, see family and get to and from work for those who do irregular hours.”
Changes to Service 48
Because of the changes to the Rosewell service, there will be a corresponding reduction in the number of late evening journeys on Service 48. For example, the late evening frequency (between Services 46 and 48) will be the same between Musselburgh and Dalkeith with a now equal split of journeys to Rosewell (46) and Gorebridge (48).
