Message of condolence

Provost Debbi McCall, has expressed condolence on behalf of Midlothian on the death of Pope Francis. She said:

“It is with sorrow that we learn of the passing of His Holiness, the Pope. As a religious leader, he held spiritual and moral influence not only for Catholics, but for millions of people around the world. His compassion and humility resonated across many faiths and cultures. On behalf of the people of Midlothian, I extend our deepest condolences to the Catholic community and to all those who looked to him for guidance and inspiration.”
