Active Travel draft strategy
The active travel draft strategy, which includes measurable and achievable targets, focuses on making Midlothian a place where getting around in a way that makes you physically active, such as walking and wheeling, will be an easy, convenient, cheap and realistic option for all.
It has been shaped by feedback from a previous public and stakeholder consultation in 2021 that highlighted key priorities and routes/locations where demand for improved active travel infrastructure is high.
What you tell us will help us identify any gaps or omissions, which we will then use to inform the final version before it is published and adopted by the council.
The Local Transport Strategy Case for Change Report
We wanted to hear your views on the draft transport problems in the area and on our strategy objectives.
The information you provided will help to identify the problems and opportunities that people face in Midlothian when getting around locally or travelling further. Your input will also help us to refine the transport outcomes or improvements we want to see for all our communities. Your responses will be used to help inform the next stage of the Local Transport Strategy development (which identifies possible ways to address these problems).
We will carry out a more detailed survey and consultation exercise later in 2024, when we have produced a draft of the Local Transport Strategy.
