Bedbugs
Before a treatment, we have to be sure that you have bedbugs. We will request a specimen or evidence like a photograph.
If you can't provide this, we can install insect monitor traps for a period and review anything trapped. If there is evidence of bedbugs, we will help you identify the likely cause.
There can be many causes, such as second-hand furniture, travel, hosting visitors to name just a few. One thing to reassure you is that bedbugs can affect anyone. A common myth is that they live in dirty environments, but this is untrue. They can live anywhere if they have access to a food source.
How to treat, and control methods
If you wish to treat bedbugs yourself, there are various products available, but be sure to follow manufacturer instructions carefully.
You must treat all affected rooms, furniture and furnishings. If any are missed the infestation can re-establish. Wash affected bedding at 60 degrees centigrade or more for 30 minutes to kill bed bugs and their eggs.
