Support for adults with dementia
Supporting community connections and peer support
We can help you meet other people who are also living with a diagnosis of dementia, or supporting someone with a diagnosis.
- The Red Cross have information on lunch clubs, men’s shed and arts and craft groups, walking groups, reminiscence groups and signing groups. They have local area coordinators and neighbourhood link workers who can help you find local groups and can support you to go to them if you need a little extra help at the beginning.
- Alzheimer’s Scotland have information on community activities for people with dementia and their carers, local carer support groups, individual support and information on D’ Cafes.
- Vocal run training sessions and peer support for carers.
- Many people find that going to a Day Centre is a nice way to meet others.
