Bulky uplifts
Kerbside collections of bulky household waste
We can collect:
- Furniture, electrical appliances and other household items that are too big to fit into your wheeled bins.
- Up to 12 items per uplift.
Uplift charges
- The cost of a bulky waste uplift starts from £30.
- The price of your individual uplift depends on the type, size, quantity of items you have for collection.
- Check bulky uplift prices.
Collection dates
We collect these type of items separately:
- Electrical appliances, including battery powered items.
- Upholstered domestic seating such as sofas, armchairs, upholstered dining chairs and beanbags.
- All other items.
This means that some of your items may be collected on different dates.
What you must do
- Put items out for collection by 6:30am on the date of collection, but no earlier than 12 noon the day before. Items left on the pavement earlier than this could be considered flytipping.
- Put items at your designated collection point. This is usually the place where you put your grey bin out for collection.
- Leave items where they do not block access to vehicles or pedestrians. Where it is not possible for you to place them in a way that does not block the pavement, leave as close as possible to your gate/boundary line on a hard surface such as a tarmac or brick-built drive.
- Ensure all items are easily accessible to our collection crews. We cannot collect items from between parked cars or from communal bin stores.
What we will do
- Collect the items you have asked us to remove between 6:30am and 3.00pm.
- If it is not possible for us to uplift your waste, we will leave a card advising the reason why i.e. items were not placed out on time, were inaccessible or could not be safely uplifted. You will need to book another uplift.
We will not
- Collect items from your garage, garden shed or from inside your property.
- Collect items from your garden, unless you are registered to receive an assisted collection service or it is not physically possible for you to present items for collection in your designated collection point without blocking pedestrian or vehicle access.
- Dismantle furniture, disconnect cookers, or remove loose waste.
- Collect any additional items presented or any different items to those originally listed.
