Community grit bins
There are 16 community grit bins around Midlothian. Local residents can help themselves to the grit to use on pavements outside their homes.
• Bonnyrigg: at the far end of Cameron Crescent
• Bonnyrigg: at the entrance to King George V Park
• Bonnyrigg: at Burnbrae Road car park opposite Burnbrae Primary School
• Dalkeith: at the entrance to King’s Park
• Danderhall: in the leisure centre carpark
• Easthouses: placed halfway along Broadhurst Road
• Gorebridge: at the entrance to the leisure centre
• Loanhead: in the leisure centre on the wide footpath near the entrance
• Mayfield: at Mayfield Place opposite the Co-op on the corner at the dentist
• Newtongrange: in the leisure centre car park at the rear of the building
• Pathhead: opposite the community centre
• Penicuik: at the YMCA at the top end of the carpark
• Penicuik Precinct: on the main high street at the turning circle
• Penicuik: Eastfield Drive at the shops on the Kirkhill side
• Rosewell: at Carnethie Street at the junction with Gorton Road.
• Woodburn: Dalkeith and Woodburn Miners’ Club car park
